Polymer clay decor: Food. Basic rules for making decor from polymer clay

Polymer clay mug decor is always made in the same way. You take the mug you want to decorate. Only those mugs and objects that can be baked in the oven are used for this. As far as the polymer clay decor is molded and baked already on a mug or object. Baked polymer clay is always used for polymer clay mug decor, as it is completely waterproof and very durable. After sculpting and baking, the decor is glued to the mug with epoxy resin or epoxy glue. This is obligatory, since after baking, the polymer clay decor will not adhere tightly to a smooth ceramic or glass surface. Decor is made on the outside part of the mug, where the mug does not come in contact with drinks.

1. We glue all the parts together using Fimo gel for greater strength. We make a cupcake shape on a mug by using chocolate-colored clay. Push through the strips on the cupcake with a needle. The excess can be cut off with a knife. Then we roll the sausage a bit lighter tone more on one side and less on the other side. We apply it to the mug and press it to the top of the cupcake.

For the chocolate wafer straws, we take 2 shades of chocolate and white color. We roll the sausages and twist them together.

We make pieces of chocolate and also glue them to the glaze using plungers with rhombuses.

After baking, cover the parts with dry pastels with a matte or glossy varnish so that the dry pastels do not wash off when applying. Then we glue it on with epoxy glue. All the polymer clay I have are made by Cernit Trademark.
